2004 Christian Coalition Voter Guide - Presidential Election

Whereas Scripture charges Christians to “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s” (Matthew 22:21 NKJV);
Whereas at least 33 million Christians stayed home during America’s last presidential election;
Whereas casting a vote is a hard-won liberty, bought by the sacrifice of America’s Founding Fathers;
Whereas I understand that future generations will inherit the effects of today’s moral and ethical decisions;
Whereas I love God, and I love my neighbor, and I wish to pass on a legacy of liberty and freedom to the children of America;
I pledge to vote according to the dictates of my conscience, as informed by Holy Scripture, this November 2.
“Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation, to select and prefer Christians for our rulers.” — John Jay, first U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice
“Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens” (Exodus 18:21).
“The time has come that Christians must vote for honest men and take consistent ground in politics. ... If he will give his vote only for honest men, the country will be obliged to have upright rulers… It seems sometimes as if the foundations of the nation are becoming rotten, and Christians seem to act as if they think God does not see what they do in politics. But I tell you He does see it, and He will bless or curse this nation according to the course Christians take in politics.”— Charles Finney, leading minister in America's Second Great Awakening
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
