The Scream

So Sean Hannity has played 30 seconds of sound of Nick Berg’s brutal death on his radio show twice in the last days now. The thing to note here is that the 30 seconds that are played are the decapitation. This does not include the introductions where Nick Berg identifies himself and who is family is, it does not include the Arabic statement that was read, but is only of him screaming as the terrorists hollering “God is Great” severed his head.

I have not seen this video and have no desire to, but listening to the sound byte was chilling. Imagining the anguish, fear and the unbelievable pain that he must have experienced during those 30 seconds is just crippling. This is something that is not easily forgotten and shouldn’t be.

“This shows the true nature of the enemies of freedom,” White House spokesman Scott McClellan said in response to questions from reporters traveling with President George W. Bush from an education speech in Arkansas. “They have no regard for the lives of innocent men, women and children. We will pursue those who are responsible and bring them to justice.”

Stand behind our Troops. Stand behind our President. Stand behind our Freedom.
